I WANT THE MEMBERSHIP OF VICTORIAN
DOCTORS TO KNOW THAT THIS
ORGANISATION IS IN THEIR CORNER.
WE TAKE THEIR WELLBEING AND THEIR
VOICE SERIOUSLY. I'M REALLY LOOKING
FORWARD TO GETTING TO WORK AND
DOING IT ALONGSIDE THE PROFESSION,
NOT AT A DISTANCE."
Immediately prior to his appointment at
“I think you can't rightfully or powerfully
AMA Victoria, Seshan was the CEO of a
advocate on the outside if you're not rock
NDIS-registered provider of specialised
solid on the inside. I'm investing early
care, support coordination, and daily
in organisational capability, exceptional
living assistance to people with complex
workforce culture, and in uplifting the
disability. He has previously held senior
and executive leadership positions at
Australian Unity, Regis Aged Care, and
Own Body Mobile Health, as well as having
owned and managed private medical, allied
health and specialist practices.
“I’m honoured to step into the role of Chief
Executive Officer of AMA Victoria, and
grateful to the Board for their confidence
and trust,” says Seshan.
Seshan says his first priority as CEO is to
build a strong internal foundation.
“AMA Victoria’s strength lies in its members
– the doctors who care for Victorians every
day. My immediate priority is to listen
across the esteemed medical community,
the Board and our staff, and to deepen
my understanding of the issues that
matter most.”
Association's
governance and financial
disciplines.”
His longer-term goals are to deliver value
to members, and to establish AMA Victoria
as the organisation Victorian doctors
increasingly turn to for support and as
an indispensable advisor to the Victorian
and Federal Governments on any serious
health issue.
“A strong healthcare system is only as
good as its medical workforce and the
structures that support doctors within that.
You can't deliver safe, high-quality care on
the back of a workforce that's demoralised or
unsupported. Culture is what binds and holds
organisations and systems together when
the pressure comes on; I’m looking forward
to focusing on that. I'm excited for the
advocacy and challenges ahead.”
Seshan is also a registered physiotherapist,
and a father of two. Away from work he is
focused on family, and a big sports fan.
