WILLIAM BLAKE
[On the concerning levels
of occupational violence
directed at healthcare
workers]: It saddens me
that Victorian health
services continue to pander
to violent patients by
expediting their care rather
than showing them the door.
Zero tolerance actually
means no tolerance of
violence, abuse and threats.

AMA VI C TO RIA
MEGAN PFEFFER
[On the harmful effects
of fat shaming within
healthcare settings]:
Thank you addressing
this critical topic.
The lipoedema community
is especially harmed by
fat shaming for a chronic
loose connection tissue
disease that is usually
misdiagnosed as obesity or
lymphoedema. 'Blame and
shame' is archaic at best.
AMA VICTORIA
AMA Victoria welcomed
the opportunity to attend
the Victorian Government
Treaty Information Session,
engaging with community
sector leaders to better
understand the ongoing
process. We recognise
the importance of selfdetermination and culturally
safe healthcare in improving
health outcomes for First
Peoples. As discussions
progress, we remain
committed to advocating
for equitable healthcare
for all Victorians.
