AMA Victoria President demanded urgent
intervention from the Victorian Government to
fix the dysfunction crippling regional health
services after The Age revealed that hundreds of
patients at Mildura Hospital have been languishing
in the emergency department for more than
24 hours, with scores waiting 48 hours and
one 85-year-old woman dying.
AMA Victoria called for an evaluation of the
Victorian pharmacy pilot program before expansion
on ABC radio, citing unclear cost effectiveness
and clinical efficiency.
